Hugh Grant’s former girlfriend blames watch for their breakup
Jemima Khan has blamed an Italian Panerai watch for her break up with Hugh Grant. Hugh Grant had gifted the silver and black watch to Jemima Khan when they started seeing each other and she was rarely seen without the watch in the two years before they broke up.
Jemima Khan, in an interview with Vogue Magazine, said that the she and Hugh Grant were having a strained relationship and she admits to scouting for signs for her to break up with Hugh. The breakdown of the watch was a clear cut signal for her that the relationship had run its course.
The way I see it, if someone is out there looking for signs, they will take anything and tailor it with their imagination and manifest it into a sign. At least Hugh was not told that Jemima was breaking up with him because her neighbor’s cat broke up with her rowdy boyfriend and it was a sign that Hugh should go too. (Hey, I am just saying)
David O. Russell has a problem with another actor - James Caan
James Caan has left the movie “Nailed” after David O.Russell asked him to cough AND choke after eating a cookie in the movie. James Caan argued that it is not possible to cough and choke to death at the same time but David O. Russell would not have any of it. He told Caan to shoot the scene with coughing and without coughing and they would choose the better shot. Caan felt that his version will not be considered and he stormed off the set.
“Nailed” stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Jessica Biel, James Marsden, Catherine Keener, Tracy Morgan, Olivia Crocicchia and James Caan played role of a U.S speaker of the house who chokes on a cookie. The story of “Nailed” revolves around a woman who travels to Washington to fight for better health care after she gets a nail lodged in her head.
David O. Russell has had famous confrontations on the set before with actors like George Clooney during production of ‘3 kings‘ (they actually got into a fist fight) and with Lily Tomlin during the making of ‘I heart Huckabees‘. You can view his crazy rampage with Lily Tomlin here.
Tom Cruise Looks At Ronald D. Moore To Save His Company
Tom Cruise has hired Ronald D. Moore to write a sci-fi trilogy for his banner, United Artists. Ronald D.Moore has written for Star Trek: Generation, Star Trek: First Contact, Roswell and Carnivale. He also has 2 projects in the works at the moment - i, Robot 2 and The Thing and they both look interesting.
According to reports, Ronald D.Moore left Star Trek after he got frustrated with the way that Star Trek Voyager was handled. I don’t know how he is going to like working with Mr. Cruise and his beliefs as Tom is apparently pretty coercive on his co-workers into listening to his theories and believing them.
One thing is for sure, after the disastrous “Lions for Lambs” and the always-in-trouble “Valkyrie”, Tom Cruise and his partner Paula Wagner really need someone like Ronald D Moore.
After JK Rowling, Harry Potter’s superfan enacts an emotional moment on the stand
This man is 50 years old and is a big fan of Harry Potter. To make things even more interesting, he breaks down on the witness stand and starts crying. While the lawyers were questioning him on the stand, he starts crying and defending why he started the Harry Potter Lexicon website and why he wants to publish a book that will have all the entries and definations from the lexicon website compiled. You really thought Rowling did not want a piece of the money you were going to make, Steve?
Apparently, J.K Rowling had no problem with him running his website but she is against the idea that he is going to release this Harry Potter encyclopedia because she wants to publish her own Harry Potter encyclopedia.
At the end of the day in court, an unconfirmed report mentioned that JK Rowling took out her wand in the courtroom, pointed at Steve and went “Be-gone’us Steve-o foreverculus”*. It did not work, she did not have the copyright.

Sylvester Stallone is called up for Jury Duty
Stallone was called up for jury duty on Monday. He showed up the L.A. courts where he was introduced to other potential jurors.
The case was a wrongful termination and to reasons unknown to the Reel Ninja, Stallone told the judge that he will try to have an open mind in the case but he might not be able to. It is after this that the judge gave him a pass and sent him home.

Sarah Polley Takes on the Senate
Canadian sweetheart, Sarah Polley, best known for her roles in The Road to Avonlea, The Sweet Hereafter and her directorial debut, Away From Her, has jumped in full force behind squashing Bill C-10.
Bill C-10, a tax bill amendment, has already been endorsed by the House of Commons, the controversial clause being passed unnoticed. The legislation would allow a federal cabinet minister to revoke tax credits for film and television productions deemed too racy. It now lies in the hands of the Senate.
“I think ultimately that’s the cost of freedom of expression. We’re all going to see things we don’t like. I see movies that I don’t like. I see things that offend me politically. I see things that offend me morally,” Polley told a Senate committee.
“I choose to debate them, to have a dialogue about them or to turn away from them, not to say that they shouldn’t be allowed to exist and certainly not to give that power to the minister,” she said.
“Part of the responsibility of being an artist is to create work that will inspire dialogue, suggest that people examine their long-held positions and, yes, occasionally offend,” she said. “Any whiff of censorship is chilling to us.”
What impact would a bill like this have on Canadian productions, many of which are heavily subsidized or solely financed by the Canadian Government?
Each day the Canadian culture is threatened to be swallowed up whole by big brother America. In my opinion, Canadian productions should not only continue to be financed by the government without the gag order, they should be proudly showcased and prized as any other truly Canadian art medium would be.
Six Weeks to Cannes Film Festival 2008
The 61st Cannes Film Festival will run May 15-26th.
One of the highlights of this years festival include a lecture by world renowned director, Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino will give the Cinema Masterclass lecture discussing his legendary experiences as a screenwriter and a helmer.
Tarantino has been involved with Cannes in the past heading up the 2004 jury, along with his numerous competitive entries including; Resevoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Death Proof.
Notably, those who have previously delivered the Masterclass lecture include Martin Scorsese, Wong Kar-Wai, Stephen Frears, Nanni Moretti and Sydney Pollack.
Lucas and Ainsworth - Light Sabers meet over costumes
Andrew Ainsworth is the orginal designer of Stormtrooper outfits for the orginal Star Wars movie - A new hope in 1976. Not a bad outfit for £30,000.
In 2004, Andrew Ainsworth claims he found a helmet in a cupboard of his and since then, he has been making replica helmets and selling them to fans for about £1500 a piece!.
Now, Lucas finds out about this and sets his lawyers loose on Ainsworth. Lucasfilm is suing Andrew Ainworth for £10 million for copyright infringement.
Andrew Ainsworth on the other hand, is counter suing Lucasfilm claiming that he has the right to every dollar of Lucasfilm’s merchandising revenue for the outfits as he is the original designer.
