Adventures of Tintin - Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson to come together!
Yes, you heard it right. The 2 of the most prolific movie makers of our time are coming together to recreate TinTin on the big screen. The trilogy will be made using performance-capture technology and produced in digital 3-D.
The movies are based on the famous comics by Belgian cartoonist Herge aka Georges Remi. In the comics, Tintin is a young Belgian reporter and globetrotter who is assisted in his adventures by his loyal dog Snowy. He later was joined by such colorful characters as Captain Haddock, Professor Cuthbert Calculus and stumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson. The comics, enormously popular in Europe, have been translated into 50 languages with more than 200 million sold.
Kathleen Kennedy will be the producer for the three feature films with Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg each directing an installment, with the director of the third movie yet to be determined. Jackson might end up directing the third movie as well.
