Mark Wahlberg is Max Payne!

Mark Wahlberg as Max PayneAnother movie based on a video game, you might start to think that this movie blog is only about movies based on video games. Trust me, this is just a coincidence :)

Mark Wahlberg is here to break the jinx even before the Prince Of Persia movie is released. The movie is slated for release on 17th October 2008. The Max Payne movie is directed by John Moore and joining Mark Wahlberg is the movie will be Mila Kunis as Mona Sax, Chris O’Donnell as Jason Colvin and Beau Bridges (rumored) as BB Hensley.

The story goes like this - Mark Wahlberg is a DEA agent whose family is killed as a part of a conspiracy and Mila Kunis plays Mona Sax who is out to avenger her sister’s death. They both come together when they are hunted by the police, the mob and a ruthless corporation.

I sure won’t be holding my breath in hopes this is a winner. Video Game derived movies have been by far and away THE WORST most plotless movies I have ever seen.

I think they are basing so many movies on video games because Hollywood is running out of ideas for original topics.

I too don’t have high hopes for this, it annoys me that they can’t think up something original. Not only is it based on a video game the plot has been done to death…get it death…oh never mind. *grins*

Yeah, its really been done to death but maybe Mark Wahlberg can revive it :)

I really liked the first Max Payne game, but then again, that was like 10 years ago?

Still, it can be one of the better game movies. It’s not directed by Uwe Boll right?

I don`t have high expectations for the movie, but it could turn out to be OK. Let`s see what Markie Mark has in bag for us … :)

No James, its directed by John Moore who directed Behind Enemy Lines, Omen (2006) and Flight of the Phoenix.

Got something to say?
